BE A STAR

Pinecrest students work hard all yearlong and should be rewarded for their efforts. The following awards are given throughout the year:

Monthly Assemblies:

  • Student of the month - Given to one male and one female student in each grade for excellent academics.
  • Citizen of the month – Given to one male and one female student in each grade for excellent behavior.
  • Most Improved – Given to one male and one female student in each grade who has shown improvement in work, citizenship and effort.

End of the Year Awards:

  • Student of the Year – Given to one male and one female student in 6th and 7th grade who has shown outstanding achievement in academics.
  • Citizen of the Year – Given to one male and one female student in 6th and 7th grade who has shown outstanding achievement in academics.
  • Straight A’s – Given to all students who have received all A’s on their report card for the entire year.
  • Straight E’s – Given to all students who have received all E’s in work habits and cooperation for the entire year.
  • Perfect Attendance – Given to all students who attend every class, every day for the entire year.

Semester Awards:

  • Honor Roll – Given to all students who maintain a 3.5 grade point average with no U’s for the entire semester.
  • Citizenship – Given to all students who receive 0-1 demerits for the entire semester.

8th Grade Awards:

  • Valedictorian: Given to one student who has achieved the highest academic excellence.
  • Salutatorian: Given to one student who has achieved the second highest academic excellence.
  • Edna May Dye Award: Given to one student who exemplifies Pinecrest ideals and standards.
  • Graduating with honors: Any student with a cumulative grade point average of 3.5 or better. (Fall and Spring semester GPA’s will be averaged together)
