The "Free To Read" program, at Pinecrest
School, was initiated in order to encourage and foster a love of reading.

Kindergarten
How does one become a Kindergarten reader?
It's really quite simple! Just jot down the titles of books that your child
has read to a parent, on the "Free to Read" log.
When ten books have been read, sign the form
and return to the teacher. Children must read at least 10 books per quarter
to qualify as a kindergarten reader. However, children may read as many
books as they wish.
Please understand that the books you choose
should be easy reading for your child, requiring little or no adult assistance.
Please contact your child's teacher with any questions that you may have.
