by Isabella B.

Betsy was born on January 1, 1752.
The Liberty Bell and Betsy were called twins. They were twins because they both arrived in the same year and because Betsy's father helped build the belfry of Independence Hall.
When she earned a souvereign, she bought ice skates. She went on the ice and bumped into a boy named James Ross. Later they married.
Betsy Ross was an amazing sewer. Once she made a huge sampler quilt. She was trying to win a contest. For first prize you get 5 pounds of money, second was 3 pounds, and third was one pound of money. Of course won first prize with her sampler.
Betsy Ross was asked to make the flag by George Washington, Robert Morris, and George Ross, her husband's uncle.
