Pinecrest
Preschools provide a fully coordinated preschool program designed to foster
your child's social and emotional growth and well-being. In addition,
a sequential learning curriculum has been developed to fully prepare your
child for kindergarten and elementary school. Children entering the preschool
will be placed according to their emotional maturity and chronological age
and will be promoted to the next group on this basis.
Year-round programs - available for children as young as two years (all students must be potty trained as determined by state licensing).
Full or half-day sessions.
Creative activities that foster emotional, social, and academic growth.
Kindergarten readiness.
Qualified teachers in a nurturing environment.
The beginning of formal academic skills starts here. Along with this the children are taught socialization skills with peers as well as fundamental problem solving.
Introductory phonics is brought to our students as part of the Pinecrest School
early reading program.
Our Pre-Kindergarten classrooms are designed to prepare
the children for the Pinecrest Elementary School curriculum.
Admissions and Optional Services
To enroll a student in a Pinecrest Preschool a personal interview with a preschool
administrator is required prior to admission. The interview with the child
and the child's parent will determine if the school is able to meet the needs
of the individual child.
Each child is admitted on his or her individual merit regardless of race, color, religion, national origin or ancestry. All children must be between the ages of two and a half and five years, toilet trained and ambulatory (able to leave a building unassisted under emergency conditions).
No child will be admitted without the Child's Pre-Admission Health Evaluation (Physician's Report).
Each day is planned to give your child experiences in both group and individual
activities. A full-day program is provided from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. daily
and a half-day program until noon, with children being picked up after lunch
and between 12:00 noon and 12:30 p.m. State law requires all children to be
signed in and out of the campus. The signing in of a child effectively transfers
control of that child to the preschool and retracts the control of the child
when the child is picked up ONLY by a pre-approved parent or adult. Proof of
identification will be required.
Field trips are conducted on licensed school buses. Field trips are supervised
by Pinecrest teachers. A separate field trip slip must be signed for each outing.
A hot lunch and two nutritional snacks are provided. We are open from 6:30
a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.
It is required by the State of California Dept. of Health Services that ALL CHILDREN MUST BE PROPERLY IMMUNIZED BEFORE ENTERING SCHOOL.
