Firefighters from Engine Company 39 in Van Nuys drove their big fire truck onto the school yard to visit our preschoolers and teach them about fire safety. They children were reminded that if their clothes ever catch fire, they should Stop, Drop, and Roll on the ground, and also to be sure they never hide from a firefighter, because they are there to help. One of the firefighters put on his full gear, complete with mask to demonstrate for the children if they ever see a firefighter in their home or school dressed this way, they need not be afraid. As a special treat, each of the preschoolers got to climb up into the fire truck and walk through to the other side. Thank you to the firefighters of Engine Company 39 for visiting our preschoolers, and the toddlers the day before.
