April 22, 2008 - Earth Day is a day to celebrate and appreciate the earth we live on. In honor of our Earth, Pinecrest students participated in a special assembly. Each grade had the opportunity to recite poems and read essays to the audience. On this page you can see photos from the assembly and read a few of the Earth Day writing projects presented.

Our Earth is great and it is cool.
So if we save it, it will rule.
So help the Earth, step by step,
Because if we don't there will be nothing left.
Celebrate Earth Day and correct our mistakes,
And not turn our planet into a dirty place.

If we love our Earth, let's keep it green. What can you do to keep it clean? We need to keep the air clean. Earth Day is a holiday when we celebrate the environment.

On Earth Day, I will be sure to help recycle. I will pick up trash on the beach. I will help people pick up trash from other people. What I can do to make a better Earth Day is I will be a good person and I will help kids all over the Earth, and help trees, and will help keep water clean for other kids. This is what I can do.

Earth Day means to take care of the Earth. We need to pick up trash and cans. Earth Day is an important day. Keep the Earth clean!

I can help the Earth by reusing water bottles and recycling bottles, cans, and newspapers. I can not litter, and pick up trash. We can also throw more trash in a trash can. We can also save animals by not polluting. I think we can make the Earth a better place.

Hello fellow Earthicans! Happy Earth Day!

Today is only one day - but we can celebrate Earth day every day!

Earth Day is about taking care of our planet. How do we take care of our planet? Reduce, reuse and recycle.

Use less energy. How do we use less energy? Turn the lights out. If you turn off the lights when you're not in the room it saves more energy.

Conserve water - turn it off when you're brushing your teeth or washing your face. Take shorter showers, in fact don't even take a shower!

Don't throw your trash on the ground. If you throw it on the ground, it will wind up in the ocean and kill the poor little animals, like the fish, dolphins and the eels.

Recycle your cans and bottles. It's easy. Just bring them to Coach Matlock!

Don't use paper towels - use SHamWOW, or something.

Why do we need to take care of the Earth? Because Earth is our home. It's the only planet in the whole solar system with water and air. That's why we have to tale care of our planet - because there's nowhere else to go!
