From the day Pinecrest was
founded in 1951, our vision has been clear: to provide a rich
educational experience for the whole child. Over the years
we have had the pleasure of preparing thousands of students
to take an active and effective role in the world today.
Since every child learns best in an environment
that is stimulating yet comfortable, we hold firm to the philosophy
that schools should be designed around the needs of the children
so that they actually look forward to getting up for school,
because their school is Pinecrest.
Curriculum:
|
Kindergarten
- Fifth Grade: Our curriculum includes
a core program of phonics, reading, spelling, language,
handwriting, mathematics, science, social studies
and physical education, as well as opportunities
for enrichment in art, computer science and Spanish. Basic
instruction is supplemented with field trips, assemblies
and after school sports and clubs.
We
are especially proud of our positive incentive programs
which include: Student of the Month, Most Improved and
Citizen of the Month assemblies. To encourage reading,
our "Book It" Program offers monthly certificates
to students who complete outside reading goals. "Caught
In The Act" rewards students for doing a good deed
without having to be asked. We at P.C.V.N. take
pride in our Color Guard, a group of students in 4th,
5th, and 6th grades who exemplify the highest qualities
of academic and social behavior. Through in-school
and extra-curricular activities, the Honor Guard serves
as a shining example of the best Pinecrest has to offer. |
Summer
Camp:
"We
have it all!" Pinecrest Summer Camp provides
more time for the activities your child loves most -

computers, field trips and much, much more. Camp

Care is offered before and after camp. It is open

who are grouped with their own age levels. Toddlers
Preschool offers Summer Camp too! |
Summer School:
| Continuing its academic tradition,
Pinecrest has developed a six-week, half-day program
