Congratulations to our Pinecrest Student Council for being named the Honor Council School of Excellence by the National Association of Elementary School Principals for the 6th year! |
The student council would like to thank parents and teachers for all their help throughout the year. Donations and help collecting items in the classroom help make this council an award winning student council. We are proud to be a successful community and school service leader. |

For the 3rd & 4th quarter the 3rd, 4th, & 5th grades have learned about making healthy choices in a computer class PowerPoint project. The SC then began a walk club. Every Monday and Friday, they walk laps around the playground. At the end of the 3rd quarter a walk to a nearby park for a picnic was held. For the end of the 4th quarter, an afternoon of swimming is planned. |
Once again this year the SC took every Thursday during the lunch recess to recycle from the classrooms. While some recycled the rest were reading to the kindergarten, Grades 1 and 2 classrooms. |

On November 7th, the student council sponsored a Veterans Day assembly. Visiting us that day with a military hummer was Sgt. Todd Barton. He spoke about being a member of the United States Military. After taking questions from students, Sgt. Barton took each class on a hands-on tour of his military hummer. We want to thank Sgt. Barton for taking time to share this special holiday with us. |

October 24 - October 29 was celebrated as Red Ribbon/Character Education Week. Our theme was "Taking Responsibility". The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades created posters with that theme that were displayed in our patio. All the grade particiapated in favorite book day, a basketball shoot off, and wear green for responsibility day. We think our students thought a lot about responsibility that week and will continue to make that an important part of their actions. |
