Below is the Citizenship Policy for Pinecrest
School - Valencia. Students are assumed to have excellent behavior
and are given an "A" in Citizenship at the beginning of
each quarter. Students may choose to keep that "A"
or they may choose to have a lower grade by not following the directions
specified below.
Parents will be informed of a citizenship grade drop and are encouraged
to support the goal of outstanding citizenship at Pinecrest.

Standards of Student Conduct
Standards of conduct apply to student behavior on
campus, in the classroom, and during any school related activity.

follow directions the first time they are given. |

not litter anywhere on the campus. |

not call each other names or use any vulgar language or
signs. |

Students will
not write on or damage the school's or other person's
property. |

not be in off limits areas during the day without permission
(patio, Teacher's Lounge, Preschool area or sand area
near Room 1). |

Students will
have requested class materials when entering the classroom. |

Students will
respect all staff at all times. |
Lunch Area

Students will
follow directions of the lunch staff. |

Students will
use food in a proper manner. |

Students will
put trash in the proper container. |
Tardiness and Truancy
 |
Students will
be with their class, and be prepared to work upon entering
the classroom at 8:30 a.m. |

Evaluation of Student Behavior
 |
Students will
be evaluated by administrators and a log of campus citizenship
will be kept in the office. A separate campus citizenship
grade will be given on their report card. |

Citizenship grades
will be calculated as follows: Students will receive an
"A" (36 points) at the beginning of each quarter.
Points shall reflect a citizenship grade as follows:

A drop in
citizenship grades will result in parent notification.
These students may then be placed on restriction. Restricted
students may not participate in extracurricular activities,
(dance, drama, class parties, etc.) during the time
they are restricted. In addition, any student,
regardless of citizenship grades, may be eliminated
from activities at administrative discretion because
of serious inappropriate behavior. |
Behavior violations and consequences
 |
Any office
referral due to misconduct may result in a loss of points. Additional
consequences for violating standards of conduct may be
imposed by the office depending upon the severity of the
violation. Repeated serious offenses may be grounds for
suspension or expulsion. |
