Dear Parents,

As we move into the new semester, we recognize that we are currently facing some of the most difficult economic conditions we have faced in our 58-year history. It is likely that this environment will persist through 2009 and perhaps beyond.

Pinecrest continues to focus on providing superior education to our students, without eliminating academic days, programs, and faculty. Please take note of the following:

• Friday, August 14, 2009 will be the LAST day of Summer Camp. Summer Camp will CLOSE however, Toddler and Preschool programs will remain OPEN through August 28, 2009
• Tuesday, September 1, 2009 will be the FIRST day of the new semester, which adds five (5) additional days to our academic year

We also have some wonderful news, and several incentives, for our Pinecrest families for the 2009-2010 school year:

• Toddler and Preschool Tuition & Registration Rates will remain the same as current rates until at least January 2010
• Elementary and Middle School Tuition Rates will remain the same as current rates through April 1, 2009. After this date, prices increase by 3%
• Administration Fee increases by only $20.00 across all K-8 grades
• Families with children entering Kindergarten and Grade 1 will receive free lunch if they register by March 6, 2009. Administration Fee must be paid in full to receive incentive.
• Families with children entering Grade 6 will receive a $100.00 voucher if they register by March 6, 2009. Administration Fee must be paid in full to receive incentive.
• All families who register by March 6, 2009 will receive a $100.00 credit off their September Tuition if they pay the Administration Fee in full
• The month of February is Celebration of Families month. All Pinecrest families who refer a new child will receive $100.00 off their September Tuition.
• Sibling discounts remain at 15% off the lowest tuition
• Military discounts remain at 10% off tuition
• There will be a 2.5% discount to all families who pay the entire tuition in advance of September 10, 2009
• Smart Tuition will take the place of our current billing system beginning in September. Credit cards such as Discover, MasterCard, and American Express will be accepted for a 2.5% fee. Online payments will begin September 2009.
• Credit Cards will be accepted for payment of the Administration Fee for the 2009-2010 academic year through August 31, 2009
• Other options for payment of tuition are through CCRC, CDR, Southern California Scholarship Fund, and various student loans. These are pursued by the families who may qualify

We thank you for your continued support of Pinecrest Schools, and we look forward to partnering with you now, and in the upcoming year. Judging from our victories, awards, and achievements last year, we are eager to see what 2009-2010 will bring. I am proud of what Pinecrest parents, teachers, and staff, are doing to prepare students to become confident, independent thinkers with a passion for making a difference in this world. I am hopeful that the New Year will bring with it a fresh sense of optimism for our communities. In times like these, those of us at Pinecrest take heart in knowing our students are learning, growing, and thriving.
