PARENT/STUDENT HANDBOOK

DRESS CODE: All Pinecrest students must wear proper uniforms every day, except on Uniform Free Days, as indicated on our school calendar.  Parents will be informed if you come to school in “non-uniform” attire on a regular (i.e., not Uniform Free) day or you will have to wear a “loaner” uniform for a small fee.  You will not be permitted to attend class until properly attired.

Uniforms are available through our primary supplier, ABC Kids, and may be purchased at semi-annual on-campus sales; by phone (800-960-2468) or online at www.abckidsschool.com.  The ONLY additional, acceptable items will be purchases from the “school uniform collections” at stores such as Mervyn’s or Target, that match our colors exactly.  Please note that polo shirts MUST have the Pinecrest School Logo on the left chest.  No other corporate logos, ads or slogans are acceptable on any clothing worn at any time other than “free/special dress” days.  “Free/Special dress” days will usually be the last Friday of the month, unless otherwise scheduled.

“UNIFORM FREE DRESS” DAYS and at all school-sponsored activities, the following items are NOT acceptable: Overly revealing clothes such as bare-midriff or spaghetti-strap tops, tube tops, sheer clothing, shorts or skirts shorter than 2” above the knee, tights or spandex worn as outerwear, etc.; torn or frayed clothes or hems; visible underwear; clothing or personal items that support alcohol, drugs, gangs, profanity, sexual conduct or violence, such as T-shirts with logos or ads, etc.; P.E. attire worn during the day; shirts worn as jackets; non-Pinecrest sweatshirts with logos; sandals or steel-toed shoes; heels over 1 inch high and shoes without socks, stockings or tights.

A student in violation of the dress code will not be permitted to attend class until properly attired.  If there is a question on whether a particular garment or style is acceptable, DO NOT wear the item until it has been approved by the administration.

Campus Citizenship grades, Uniform Free Day eligibility, and/or Honor Roll standings will be affected for ongoing dress code violations.

We ask for your continued support and understanding as we move toward a more “uniformed” look for Pinecrest School students.

LOST AND FOUND ARTICLES: Keeping track of your belongings is your responsibility.  Help yourself to do so by putting your name on everything you bring to school.  Make sure to take your jacket or sweater with you from the playground at class time, and from the Courts or Field after P.E.  The teachers and coaches will remind you.  All clothing or lunch boxes found on the yards or in the classrooms are placed in the Main Hallway or in the Green Box located outside the Upper Office window.  All textbooks, workbooks, and personal items are kept in the offices.

After one month, unclaimed clothing is donated to a charitable organization.
