6th Grade Spanish
Teacher, Senora Maria Miller

In this project, which was completed in class, each student built a Spanish town, known as a 'pueblo.' They included in their towns a butcher shop, bakery, school, park, movie theater, pharmacy, and several residential homes, each labeled appropriately in Spanish. In addition, each student wrote a description, in English and Spanish, about their pueblo. Visit the links below to see the students' pueblos and to read one example of the students' Spanish/English descriptions.

Mi Pueblo by Jo G.

Hola, me IIamo Cecilia.

Hello, my name is Cecilia. I am a sixth grader at Pinecrest School and I live in the small town of Bahia Blanca. In Bahia Blanca, you can go to a lot of fun places, such as Carmen's Butcher Shop, Pedro's Bakery, and Felipe's Pharmacy, and much more.

At Carmen's Butcher Shop, you can buy all kinds of meats like steak and chicken. However, our mayor, Silvia Salvez, prefers to buy pastries and coffee at Pedro's Bakery. Sometimes, if I have a cold, I go to Felipe's Pharmacy to buy medicine and cough drops. When my friends and I want to go hang out, we like to go Mario's Movie Theater and watch all kinds of movies. We also like to go play at the community park. We usually play soccer at the park after we get out of school. Of course, our days are too good to last and we all go home to sleep. There are not too many residential homes at Bahia Blanca, but there is just enough for my friends and family. Bahia Blanca is a great place to grow up.
