Pinecrest Schools recognizes the importance of instilling in our students the desire to better their spelling skills. A Spelling Bee helps to improve spelling by arousing interest among students and creating a friendly rivalry among the schools.

On January 27, 2010, top spellers from nine Pinecrest campuses gathered at Pinecrest Schools Northridge for the 8th Annual Pinecrest Regional Spelling Bee. Each of the students had won the spelling championships at their home campus, earning them the privilege of competing against champions from their sister campuses.

Congratulations to all of our competitors. We are very proud of all of you for trying your best during the Spelling Bee. It is notable that our spellers in the finals went further in the list of words than any group in previous years. Additionally, special mention should be made about our Woodland Hills team. Every one them brought home a ribbon from this year's Spelling Bee.
