Open ceremonies were spectacular. The day began with the procession of the althletes, each class representing a different country. The lighting of the torch was then followed a surprise appearance by representatives of the Air Force Color Guard including a former member of our Pinecrest family, Airman First Class William "Coach Bill" Rowerdink. The official start of the 2008 Olympic Games was announced and the games begun!
Our athletes gave their best efforts in each of their
events. It was a day to show school spirit, and students,
staff and parents all had a great day.
