1st Grade Science Project
Teacher, Mrs. Hernandez

The universe is a vast place, so we needed to make this page big enough to hold it. The 1st graders in Mrs. Hernandez' class studied the planets, learning what makes each one unique. Walk into their classroom and you will see the planets strewn across the board. We bring you a slightly smaller version here.

The students also learned about the moon and stars...

We can see the moon at night.
The moon moves around Earth.
The sun lights the moon.
The stars glow at night.

... and the sun.

The sun is a star.
The sun gives off light.
The sun is in the sky.

The sun is the star closest to Earth.
The sun's light and heat warm Earth's land, water, and air.
The sun seems to move through the sky every day.
