February 7, 2008 - Gong Xi Fa Cai. Happy New Year. Welcome to Pinecrest's festive celebration of "The Year of the Earth Rat" in the Chinese Year 4076. This year we gathered to chase out the boar and welcome in the rat. Led by a traditional Chinese dragon, drums, dancing and Chinese music, students and parents enjoyed a authentic Chinese New Year celebration.

Following the parade parents joined their students Rooms 2, 16 and 18 for a luncheon with scrumptious Chinese delicacies.

Thank you to Mrs. Cheah for sharing her Chinese heritage with our students and to Mrs. Salas, Ms. Timmsen, Ms. Leventis, Ms. Rudd and all of the staff and parents who helped make our Chinese New Year celebration a day to remember.
