Why are water quality standards important? How do you know the water from the faucet is safe to drink?
Water quality standards are important because they help to protect and restore the quality of the nation's surface waters, consistent with the requirements of the Clean Water Act. Standards help to identify water quality problems caused by improperly treated wastewater discharges, runoff or discharges from active or abandoned mining sites, sediment, fertilizers, and chemicals from agricultural areas, and erosion of stream banks caused by improper grazing practices. My project will show how water is tested for contaminants and then discuss how it is treated to make the water safe for people to use it at home. work and recreation.
Conclusion: The five different water samples tested negative for any levels of bacteria. |
