What I want to know: How big the hole (crater) will be each time I drop the clay. I also want to know if the hole (crater) will be a different size if I drop the clay from farther away.

What I learned: I dropped my clay ball five different times, from four heights. Each time, before I dropped the ball, I used a toothpick to see how deep my cornmeal was. I marked this with a black mark on the toothpick. After I dropped my clay, I used the same toothpick to measure how deep of a hole, or crater, my clay made. This I marked with a red pen. 3 out of 5 times, no matter how high or low I held the clay, it only was a difference of 3/8 of an inch.

Since I used the same size clay ball, even from different heights, the holes were mostly the same size. I think if I had used different, heavier pieces of clay, the holes would have been different.
