The Pinecrest Lancaster campus held an essay contest in recognition of Pinecrest's 55 year anniversary. The contest was open to 3rd - 8th grade. The students were asked to write an essay in 555 words or less, telling us why Pinecrest is the Best!! We had several entrees and it was very hard to choose a winner. They were all outstanding.

The grand prizewinner was Middle School student, McKayla M. and the runner up was Justin S. Fifth grade 1st place winner was Sumer B. and the runner up was Madelynn A. Fourth grade 1st place winner was Isabella T.

Why Pinecrest is Awesome

Pinecrest is an extraordinary school. I've attended here for seven years and have loved it. I couldn't imagine spending my pre-high school experience anywhere else.

Some aspects that set Pinecrest apart from other schools are the teachers and curriculum. The curriculum exceeds California's standards and the teachers only add to the experience. All my years here, I've never had a bad teacher. They have all stepped up and made learning fun.

The social aspect of Pinecrest is also great. Pinecrest is a private school, which keeps their class sizes down. This contributes to the whole class becoming like a family into which new students are accepted easily.

Overall, Pinecrest is a super school. Being an 8th grader who is heading off to high school next year, I can confidently say I'm prepared for the future. I'm also proud to say that I'll always look back on my Pinecrest experience as a positive one.

Pinecrest

The past two years at Pinecrest Lancaster have been the best years of my life. When I wake up every morning I don't complain about going to school. The reason I don't complain is because it is like going to see my other family. Everybody at Pinecrest is part of my family and that's why I love going to school. Just like real family I argue with all my friends just as I would my real brother. I love walking into school every morning and having a close relationship with all the kids and the staff at Pinecrest. I don't see the staff as people who work at my school, but as my friends and family. I get along pretty good with all the people that go to my school and the ones that work there. I love just talking to the staff and getting to know them better.

The biggest reason that Pinecrest Lancaster is the best is because of the academic program that is provided for all the students. The thing that is great about the program is that it is higher than most schools and that it will prepare me for high school. It is very easy for me to understand all the work because of the teachers that help me with the work. The teachers at Pinecrest are very good at teaching and they are very 'hands on' and they know what they are teaching. I love the fact that sometimes I would rather be at school than at home. I enjoy all the after school activities that are at Pinecrest like football, softball, ping pong, tennis, soccer, and all the people that teach them are amazing at them.

Coming to Pinecrest Lancaster changed me for the rest of my life and it taught me to be a better student and a better person. That is why Pinecrest is the best.

Why is Pinecrest the Best?

Pinecrest is the best because it has stimulating fieldtrips. Sacramento, Fort Tejon, and whale watching are bits of it, and we learn something intriguing too. Free dress days are essential; it helps express people's feelings or show off their favorite outfit! The teachers are tremendous and always provide acknowledgement and recognition. Swimming is the most supreme treat ever! You get to have a great time and it encourages people to swim more along with exercise.

The carnivals and haunted houses are outrageous and suspenseful. The administration and office staff are like spring with the sun leaning onto earth's gorgeous flowers. Everyone is jolly, never cranky. Specialty classes are the best. It helps to learn a new language. Music is very, very fun. In computers kids learn how to use it and type well. Last but not least physical education helps us get intrigued with exercise and try new sports.

Our school is very intellectual and makes us want to learn. We are fortunate to have a superb library with a delightful librarian, Mrs. Holly! The aids are splendid and make everyone feel exhilarated when skies are gray. All the activates after school are great because students don't need to find activities outside the school. We have spectacular after school teachers too! We also are fortunate to have impressive maintenance that fixes our desk and tables, and many others things. The books are outstanding. They open our mind to learn new and exciting knowledge. Each year the teachers help to prepare the students for the next year of challenges. They strive to make our days fun, while learning. The bus driver keeps an orderly bus and takes us to and from our field trips safely. I believe that Pinecrest is a great school. It is our first jump into the educational world.

Why is Pinecrest the Best?

I have been going to Pinecrest since I was three years old. I started in the Preschool program and my teachers' names were Miss Rose and Miss Diana. I remember when I learned my ABC's, colors, and numbers.

Now I'm 10 years old and I still go to Pinecrest School. My teacher's name is Mrs. Wetherbee. She is as sweet as candy. In school I have a variety of friends who are really kind. That is what I like about Pinecrest; everyone is kind. I also think that Pinecrest has the best education, because the teachers make it fun to learn. I also like the activities the students get to do like the haunted house, summer camp or International day. Pinecrest also has the best P.E. program. Coach Campbell and Coach Keijnan taught me everything I know about sports and jump rope. I think Music is fun too. In Music you learn how to read notes, sing or play instruments, which you don't do at a lot of schools. The Spanish class, computer lab, and the art program make Pinecrest education complete.

Those are some of the reasons why I go to this magnificent school.

I think Pinecrest is the best because of the great education. We get computers and that helps us because a lot of jobs use computers to work. We also get P.E. and that helps us get healthier. We also get music and Spanish, which helps us talk to people who only speak Spanish, and music also helps us get better grades in math. Pinecrest also provides terrific books, pencils, paper, and food.

Pinecrest has a lot of different activities. We have cheer, salsa, and cooking. We also have basketball, soccer, and flag football. We also have two swimming pools where we swim for P.E. at the end of the school year. We also get snacks, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. We also have a winter camp and summer camp. That is why I think Pinecrest is the best.
