I enjoy spending time with my family.  I also enjoy reading, bike riding and doing cross stitch.

My education philosophy is that every child deserves the right to learn in safe, stimulating environment.  Everyone has different learning styles.  It is my job to determine how to teach the material in a way that makes sense to each of them.

I really enjoy working with the children.  You can see the academic growth in each student as the year progresses.  It is especially rewarding when you see them master a skill that was really challenging for them.  They are pleased with their personal success.                                                                                 

One year, I had a student who spoke limited English.  I had to teach every subject using visuals and acting out how to do everything while speaking slowly and repetitively.  She was bright and by the end of the year she was doing very well reading and writing in English.  It was challenging at times, but it helped me become a better teacher.
