Mrs. Hogan

Welcome

Welcome to our library!  My name is Mrs. Hogan and it is my pleasure, as the elementary librarian, to have the opportunity to provide your children with an exceptional experience in our library through my love of books and reading.

Box Tops

I hope that you have been collecting box tops.  It is a great way to add to our library program.  Just clip the coupons, place them in a Ziploc baggie with your child’s name and class on it.  Your child’s class will bring their collection to the library during their visit.  We will receive ten cents per coupon.  Thank you for all your help!   Thank you for all the Box Tops 4 Education coupons. Our next collection date will be in February so please keep collecting!  With all these coupons we are able to enhance our library and library collections.

Reading Rangers

It was a pleasure to recognize all of our summer readers for their outstanding reading achievements.  Twenty- nine students read a more than 30,000 pages.  What an achievement!  Thank you to all of their parents and teachers for encouraging them to read over the summer!  The two top readers were Manuel Munoz in 5th grade  and Jon Bruecker in 1st grade.  Congratulations to each and every student that read over the summer.  Thank you for participation.  We are proud of all of you!

The Pinecrest Reading Ranger Program is a voluntary reading program designed to recognize and reward students who are interested in developing a joy of reading by reinforcing the following.

  • Reading is a pleasurable experience.
  • Reading can provide valuable family time.
  • Reading is a knowledge and confidence builder.

Students are encouraged to read at home and keep track of the number of minutes and pages they have read on a reading log.  Once they have completed their log, students may turn in the completed reading log into the library. Throughout the year, students will be recognized for their reading achievements. Reading logs are available in the library. Or you may download the form here:

BOOK FAIR

We will set up for our Holiday Book Fair the last week of November.  We will need volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering and helping with the set-up or in the book fair, please let us know in the library.  The book fair will take place November 28 -December 2.  Hope to see you there!
