Ed Montoya

Pinecrest Campus: Canyon Country
Grade or Class: P.E.

I Attended Trade Tech L.A. Vocational Graphic Arts, East L.A. College, Learning Tree, Santa Clarita Valley YMCA Basketball Staff, Saugus High School Football Staff, SCVAA Warrior Football Staff,

I enjoy supporting my son Jacob with Saugus Football and my younger son Justin who played his last year of Warrior Football and will be playing next year at Saugus High School as well. I also enjoy camping trips with my family throughout the year, Friday night football games under the lights and Saturday night dinner and a movie with my wife Renee and our boys. You will also find me in front of the big screen watching the Raiders, USC, Lakers and Dodgers!!!

When winning is kept in the right perspective, our student athletes are allowed to develop without fear of failure. They learn to understand the value of praise, as well as that of constructive criticism. Winning must be accomplished while competing in the purest sense of fair play and good sportsmanship. Character is shaped through athletic competition that will carry over into all other areas of life. It is my desire that every athlete, coach, parent and spectator enjoys the total experience of athletics at Pinecrest Schools Canyon Country.

What I enjoy most as my role as Athletic Director is the opportunity to work close with inspired students and coaches who have the same passion and desire as I do. The teaching side of physical education from the K’s to eighth grade is also very important to me as I get to interact with every student in many different levels.

Thus far my most memorable moments are visits from graduating students who come back to thank me for everything I have taught them as an athlete and most of all share a story or two about there success in high school sports.
