Question:
1.
Does the cafeteria doorknob at Pinecrest School in Canyon Country have more germs than the toilet seat in the girls' bathroom?
2. Are schools good places for microbes to grow?
3. Where are places that microbes can be found at schools?
Hypothesis: The cafeteria doorknob at Pinecrest School in Canyon Country has more germs on it than the toilet seat in the girls' bathroom at Pinecrest School.
Conclusion: On March 21, 2008 samples were taken of the cafeteria
doorknob and the toilet seat in the girl's bathroom at
Pinecrest School in Canyon Country. The samples were
taken by using Petri dishes to sample the surfaces. Over the
course of 5 days, each sample was examined to determine if
there was growth. The toilet seat appeared to have more
bacteria colonies growing than the cafeteria doorknob.
Therefore, the hypothesis that the cafeteria doorknob at
Pinecrest School in Canyon Country has more germs on it
than the toilet seat in the girls' bathroom at Pinecrest School
was proven to be false.
